Pima Cotton
What does Pima Cotton mean?
Cotton with a long fibre length (1 3/8″-1 5/8″) that is quite luxurious. A beautiful quality of cotton, it is only second best to Sea Island and Egyptian cotton fibre.
Heddels explains Pima Cotton
First cultivated in Peru, pima cotton is named in honor of the Pima Indians who helped raise the plant on farms in Arizona at the beginning of the twentieth century. Today, it is grown mainly in the southwest United States.
Similar in many ways to Egyptian cotton, pima cotton is much more durable and has a greater absorbency than most other types of cotton.
