Organic Cotton

What does Organic Cotton mean?

Cotton grown in “living soil” (i.e. soil free of toxic chemicals for three years) which creates the basis of an organic farm. Organic farmers have proven that when plants are healthy they are able to resist insects, weeds and disease.

Heddels explains Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is highly touted for its biodiversity and low impact on the environment. It prevents soil from being stripped through crop rotation, does not use GMO (genetically modified organism) seeds, and decreases the use of toxic pesticides and fertilizers.

Cotton sold as organic in the United States must meet strict regulation requirements on how it is grown.
