Hige

What does Hige mean?

Formed by consistent creasing of your leg’s motion when walking, sitting, etc., hige are fade lines that occurs around the crotch and thigh area. In general, this section of raw denim usually fades first.

Heddels explains Hige

The term hige comes from the Japanese word meaning mustache, beard, or whiskers. On pre-worn jeans, these fade marks are produced by scrubbing the jeans over boards with engraved patterns.

However, these marks are not customized to your body, and as a result don’t look as natural as the ones you form yourself by wearing a pair of raw denim jeans.
