What does Herringbone mean?

A weave in which twill warp stripes are created by running twills in different directions.

Heddels explains Herringbone

Herringbone weave, also known as “chevron weave”, has a distinctive V shaped pattern that resembles a herring’s skeleton.

It is used most often with wool fabrics, especially tweed, a Scottish fabric commonly used for luggage and outerwear. However, some denim brands, such as Naked & Famous, have produced herringbone raw denim models.
