Fade of the Day – A.P.C. New Standard (~9 Years, Washes Unknown)

The journey on the highway of whiskers, train tracks, honey combs, and roping starts somewhere different for each of us. For many, it likely begins with a pair of jeans like today’s fade. Reader Mike P. of New York City bought this pair of A.P.C. New Standard jeans back in 2006 (or perhaps 2007, he says), when he was in high school. However, the hard wear really only started from 2009-2014. During that time, Mike lost and gained weight, which he says caused these jeans to fade differently.

Over time, he developed a crotch blowout, which he took to Self Edge for repairs. He stuffed the jeans into his boots during the winter, which resulted in more trips for repair. Now, nine years later, Mike’s jeans have faded so much that they look like they were pulled out of an old mine shaft. And that’s definitely a compliment.
