Roy “Big Bro” Red Chambray Short Sleeve Baja Shirt

The latest from Roy has just hit Self Edge stores. Prime for summer wear, the Roy Big Bro Red Chambray Short Sleeve Baja Shirt is 1. thoroughly titled, and 2. full of tricks up the sleeves (and placket).

It’s made of a lightweight 6 oz. Japanese chambray that has a subtle pattern that surfaces more as it wears. You’ll find selvedge details at the side gussets and at the center seam making for some nice selvedge tracks down the road. And not to be overlooked, it’s also outfitted with smaller details like chainstitch runoff at the side seams, enameled metal cateye buttons and the signature “Roy” chainstitch sewn into the pocket.

But the real show stopper is something you can’t even see unless you’re really looking for it. He’s used an invisible hemming machine, but not for the hem of the shirt. Instead, he’s used it for the placket. What this does is covers the button backs, allowing for a more flush and comfortable placket against the skin. Highly inventive as per Roy Slaper usual.

Although it came a little late for our recent article about short sleeve chambray shirts, you don’t want to be late in purchasing it because it’s limited to only 88 pieces, never to be reproduced. Now available for $275 at Self Edge.
