Posted up in North Carolina, just like a certain denim mill we admire, Cramerton Mills has been pumping out the definitive khaki cloth since 1929. The fabric has served America well, clothing soldiers all the way through the Vietnam War.
Nowadays, Cramerton’s fabric has been relegated mostly to thrift stores throughout the country, though there have been some who haven’t forgotten its merit. Tony Patella and Pete Searson of Tellason fame are counted among those, having fond memories of their thrift shop adventures back when they were skating through college at San Diego State University. Now, they’ve brought the fabric back to the front lines, though in a more civilian sense.
Their Cramerton Army Cloth Chino comes in a straight fit and a tapered fit with features like a corozo nut button fly, front slash pockets, jetted rear pockets, and a natural cotton twill waist curtain. This is the classic American chino that grandpa would approve of.
Though it may not be a pair of 23 oz. Iron Hearts, if it was good enough for the Army, it’s more than good enough for the civilian.
