Over the past few years, PF Flyers has slowly but steadily inculcated their shoes into the heritage menswear scene. They certainly have the historical capital as one of the original US sneaker-makers (read our full history of the brand here), but it was no easy feat considering the majority of PF’s shoes are still made overseas.

Well that changes this season, with the roll-out of their Made in USA Center Hi sneaker, the first domestically produced PF shoe in 40 years. In fact, it’s made right down the street from the PF/New Balance office in Boston! Now you might say, “what’s the difference between this and the imported version besides the price tag?” But the shoe offers quite a few other upgrades from the standard Center Hi:

The Made in USA Center Hi merges retro athletic style with the lush comfort of a contemporary running shoe through a premium performance insert that rests atop of a DESMA injected PU midsole, providing inherent cushioning. The shoe is made out of 14 oz. heavy weight canvas, with a lux leather toe cap and eye-row, and rich pig skin lining. Inspired by the timeless Center Hi branding from the 1960’s, the style features a hand drawn midsole stripe, hand-stamped tongue branding, 100% cotton laces and a premium debossed ankle patch.

The shoe is currently only available in white and black, but there will be a full range of colors in the coming months. They are also available exclusively at a handful of American retailers until they go live on the Flyers site in July. The lineup right now includes:
