After

Last week’s fade had reached a ripe bold age at 5 years, but week’s one is downright ancient at 7 years. We’ve had some very old pairs in the past. For reference, when the owner started wearing this jacket George W. Bush was president, we still thought the writers on “Lost” knew what they were doing, and I was in high school dreaming of my future career as a denim writer.

This ancient masterpiece belongs to its designer, Peter Brandwein, of New York City’s Jean Shop. He began wearing the jacket–and the pin of Mr. George Harrison–and it has since been across the country multiple times, across the ocean to Japan, and to more concerts than Peter can remember. All that and it has not touched water except for a single initial soak.

George has sadly been lost in transit, but the fades and patina remain. You could get lost in those elbow combs.
