If you’re the type of person that thinks you’ve seen everything denim has to offer, we’ve got something new for you. Noble Denim has teamed up with Bulleit Bourbon to experiment with dipping 50 pairs their Truman and Earnest fit jeans into freshly dumped, but not empty, whiskey barrels.
Creative minds usually come up with creative ideas, and then there are times in which they come up with something quite unexpected. We’ve seen one color overdyeing another, green tea overdyes, mud treatments and other finishes, but whiskey? Will they shrink? What might the color be? Will the smell ever leave?
They cracked the barrels at the end of November and the jeans that emerged had turned a honey brown and probably smell like they’ve spent a weekend with Hunter Thompson.
If you’re eager about capturing one of these 50 pairs (and the accompanying whiskey), they should be released them at some point this winter. From the looks of things, there was still a healthy smattering of booze in the barrels, much to the delight of anyone eyeing some real impact by the whiskey.
