Big John Denim MA-1 Jacket – Just Released

The classic MA-1 jacket gets a Japanese interpretation in the latest release from Big John. Originally, the MA-1 was designed by the United States Air Force in the 1950s in the midst of aviation innovation as the jet plane was born. Jets were capable of flying higher than propeller aircrafts and into altitudes where temperatures were much colder. Jet pilots in turn needed garments that could accommodate.

The jacket from Big John gets a murdered out look with an all-black stretch denim body and black nylon sleeves. It maintains its functionality with which the original MA-1 was originally designed including lightweight padding throughout to combat the chills of winter, snap pockets at the front, a zip sleeve pocket, and inside chest pocket. It’s minimally designed with a streamlined profile, also like the original. If all black everything isn’t for you, they’ve also made a version in grey.
