Masters of slub, Pure Blue Japan, have just released a new model in the same fit as their slim tapered XX-013. The jean features a black paint-like coating layered on top of the indigo denim, giving it an initial waxy sheen.
Regular wear will give the jean a multilayered fade as the indigo yarns and ultimately their white cores break through the the black coating (see PBJ’s fade sample below). This is only a one-off from PBJ’s normal lineup and it’s unsure which western retailers will stock it so stay tuned if you’re looking to get black and blue.
