Kenley Chittick and Dumluck Handcrafted Garments – One Man Brands

As we continue our One Man Brands series we introduce you to Kenley Chittick and Dumluck Handcrafted Garments straight out of the Netherlands. They are a small, growing brand but Kenley shows no signs of slowing down as his brand continues to get noticed and thrive.

Kenley found a passion for crafting jeans after time spent working at a prominent Amsterdam based menswear shop in his younger days. Just shy of a year ago, Kenley began Dumluck Handmade Garments.

After deciding to helm his own brand, Kenley knew that he wanted to use only the most high quality materials that he could find. But when he went to contact manufacturers, Kenley found out that many places did not accept or produce small batch orders.

Dejected but not defeated, he looked to the two internet vehicles that hold the answers to most life dilemmas, Google and YouTube. It was through these sites that Kenley discovered that it possible to have a successful brand with a small group or one person involved.

After searching far and wide (and across a few countries) for the vintage machines to manufacture his jeans, Kenley began production. It took him a few batches (and a few instructional sewing videos) to get them just right, and many began to notice his handiwork as Kenley wore his products out and about.

While he began to build up local notoriety, Kenley moved the operation out of his home and into a workshop called The House of Arts and Crafts in the center of Amsterdam.

Kenley exclusively uses deadstock raw and selvedge fabrics in all of his handmade goods. He says that using these fabrics and making them by hand helps to ensure a truly unique product when you purchase something from Dumluck.
