Jack/Knife x Brian Awitan Owner Made Series: Just released

Expanding their ready-to-wear collection, Bay Area denim obsessives Jack/Knife have come out with a small collection of garments inspired by and in collaboration with menswear OG Brian Awitan. Awitan has had about two decades in the business with companies like Levi’s XX and Diesel with his hands mostly in sales and marketing. Nowadays he has his own consulting agency, Thick as Thieves, working with a slew of brands like Tellason and Horween.

His massive influence on the industry is one that deserves recognition and Jack/Knife’s latest addition to their ‘Owner Made’ series pays homage to the veteran and close friend by mixing the concepts of work and play, reflecting Awitan’s distinctive personality. Three products make up this release including The ‘Awitan’ Popover, the Linen Western Pocket Jean, and the Artist Series Bandana No. 1.

The popover is made of an 100% cotton Japanese plain weave indigo-dyed microdot print fabric with stained buttons and what they call a ‘convertible’ overlapping collar. The jeans are their ‘relaxed slim’ fit with western pockets in a breezy Japanese fabric that’s a 50/50 linen/cotton blend with finished seams. Finally, the bandana is Jack/Knife’s inaugural piece for their new guest artist series. It’s made of unbleached cotton that’s woven and printed in California and features an original drawing of the Indigofera Tinctoria plant by artist and friend of Jack/Knife, Laurel Lobovitz.

Items are priced from $35 to $375 USD and available on their website.
