E-Workers Lot 815 and Lot 805 Jeans: Just Released

E-workers.net might sound like a shifty site where you’re promised riches by working from home on your very own computer. Luckily for us, it’s not. It’s actually a Japanese workwear label that stared in 2004 as a workwear history blog, but is now turning out some pretty fantastic looking pieces at reasonable price points.

Their landing page features a photo of 10 men in Head Light Overalls dated from 1948. Takashi Tateno, the man behind E-workers, is clearly steeped in work wear traditions. While the translations on the site can be a little wonky, Tateno’s work has received high praise from the repro heads on the denim forum Denimbro, been featured in Inventory and stocked by J. Crew at one point.

The store, where you can order by filling out the order form, is stocked with shorts, bags, shirts and a few parkas but it was their triple stitch painter pant, Lot 815, and slim straight fit, Lot 805, that caught our attention. The denim, for both cuts, is produced under the moniker K&TH Overalls.

The Lot 815 comes in a 13.5 Oz. right-hand twill sanforized, selvedge denim. They feature triple stitching at the outseam, exposed rivets on the back pockets and a crotch rivet. At 15,800 yen (about $155) these are a steal for this level of reproduction. The cut is going to be distinctly work wear, full through the seat and legs, giving you room to move and work.

The Lot 805 is a slimmer cut, but comes with all the work wear detailing of the 815: cotton thread, exposed rivets and crotch rivet. The fit looks to be a little more work wear inspired than you’d expect from an American or European slim straight.

All indications are that both cuts are sanforized and one-wash, though you may want to confirm your size upon ordering just to play it safe. There are some indications that ship times can be a little slow, but when you’re ordering quality at this level from Japan, a little extra wait only makes the arrival that much sweeter.
