French brand A.P.C. is likely responsible for many raw denim fans’ first foray into selvedge jeans, but the brand founded by Jean Touitou in 1987 is also well-known for their remarkable range of ready-to-wear options. Simplistic, minimal styling is one of the brand’s hallmarks, whether it’s on its own or in notable collaborations such as the A.P.C. x Kanye collections. One such example of minimalistic design is in a pair of recently released denim jackets, the Veste Jean Work and the Veste Jean US.

Both made of 14.5 Oz. Japanese selvedge denim, the Work and US share many details. The two jackets are 100% cotton and feature button closures as well as side pockets. They also are unlined, have slit cuffs and have the brand’s trademark engraved buttons reading “A.P.C. rue Madame près du Luxembourg.” The one thing that the jackets differ on besides the button vs. non-button closure chest pockets and $10 in price is fit. Perhaps lending to the name, the Work jacket features a classic straight cut, while the US has a more modern, fitted cut.

While it’s up to the wearer to decide what fit works best for them, customers can expect the quick-fading denim that A.P.C. is renowned for. Other shared details include orange topstitching, an unlined interior, and button tabs on the back hem. Check out the photos below and hop on over to A.P.C.‘s website for more.

Both designs look good, but I wish APC would provide model photos where the jacket isn’t buttoned all the way up.

Maybe its the model but those look really, really small?

Nice jackets, but I don’t really see any difference between the two fits. Maybe it’s just the picture, I don’t know.

the thread stitching seems to be different, and also one doesn’t have buttons for the pocket.

He said “difference between the two fits,” not any differences whatsoever. The article states that one has a straight fit and one has “a more modern, fitted cut.” And I have to say that they do look quite similar.

I’m not really into the looser fit, uncoordinated style APC seem to be adopting
