Rogue Territory Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

When it comes to many brands that we cover, Spring/Summer collections tends to bring forth less raw denim options and instead offers up clothes that feature lighter, softer, and even washed fabrics. For the last couple of years, Rogue Territory has been experimenting more with denim alternatives that complement their raw denim options that they offer year round. Their Spring/Summer’14 collection continues their foray into warm weather clothes.

Rogue Territory‘s S/S 2014 introduces several versions of their Supply Jacket as well as a Field Jacket. The Supply Jacket has been an immensely popular for the brand due to its more unique design that sets it apart from the traditional Levi’s inspired trucker jackets.

This time around the jackets are made from a 11 oz duck canvas from Mount Vernon, who is known for their durable fabrics used by many workwear brands like Carhartt. Coming in both navy and brown, the fabric is yarn dyed and has a soft hand that should wear in nicely.

The Field Jacket is a new design to Rogue Territory using a 11 oz denim from Cone Mills as well as a version using their rain drop camo fabric. It features chest pockets and two flap front pockets that makes it more functional for those of us that have a more expansive everyday carry kit.

As for shirting, they’ve brought on board several new shirts featuring some previous fabrics, a yarn dyed indigo selvedge chambray, and a brown chambray both from Yoshiwa Mills in Japan. They come in their standard long sleeve workshirt design as well as a short sleeve jumper shirt and short sleeve popovers. The Workshirt is also available using a 10 oz Cone Mills selvedge denim.

In the world that we operate in, there is an obvious taboo against washed denim. However, as more and more brands like Rogue Territory establish themselves with their raw denim options, they are taking those same fabrics and experimenting with small limited runs of different washes.

For the brand’s co-founders, Karl and Leslie, the idea behind the washes was to demonstrate the versatility of their Nihon Menpu Mills denim and showcase them next to the raw versions. This way they can show off the denim in a different light especially since during the warmer season, there is an increase in demand for lighter weight and color options.

The SS’14 collection includes three different washes utilizing both their 14.5 oz indigo and black warp denim. They went through a laborious process to make sure that the washes look as natural as possible and a particular standout from this release is the Desert Wash Supply Jacket. While the washed collection may not appeal to some, the results are impressive and will certainly please those who are looking for non-raw jeans during the spring and summer time.
