Fade Friday – Self Edge x Imperial SEXI14 (15 Months, 8 Soaks, 3 Washes)

Self Edge x Imperial SEXI14 (15 Months, 8 Soaks, 3 Washes)

Today’s Fade Friday features a battered pair of Self Edge x Imperial SEXI14 that has seen far more wear than the average pair. Barely intact with crotch repairs, inseam bobby pins, and holes aplenty, at a glance the jeans may seem like nothing more than an expensive rag. But like a war-scarred veteran, these SEXI14s have plenty of character behind the raggedness.

Besides boasting strong speckled contrast within the honeycombs, the jeans also display an elegant color shift from snow white at the top to electric blue to dark navy at the legs. Submitted by reader, Jobey, the jeans have been scuffed against motorcycles while traveling to distant countries and multiple Coachella festivals. Though the youthful days of today’s pair may have long passed with diesel stains and mustard smears, the owner has stated that the jeans will not be forgotten – he will continue to wear these troopers after some repair work at Self Edge.

Damn, gotta say those are in contention for top fade of 2013 on here. They’ve definitely earned a trip to Darn It. Well done

everything but the safety pins. Confused. Surely that can’t be the real solution to repair that area?

      • emi2994

or, as the article calls them, “bobby pins”…

      • Jobey

As you can see from the picture, the chain stitching of the outseam is showing through as they are slowly ripping towards the waistband. Just a temporary measure to stop it until they get fixed up at Self Edge.

Not exactly impressed with the quality of the denim. $360 and they look like that after 15 months? More blowouts than a pair of Nudies.
