Momotaro x Blue Owl “Midnight Warrior”

Announced just a few weeks ago, Seattle based shop, Blue Owl Workshop, recently collaborated with the brand who’s name is derived from Japanese folklore, Momotaro, to create the “Midnight Warrior” Tapered 15.7oz Raw Selvedge (BOM005). This pair of denim is a tapered take on the first collaboration between Momotaro and Blue Owl, also entitled the “Midnight Warrior.”

Comprised of a super dark indigo Zimbabwe cotton, the denim also layers on black stitching and a black patch to retain a complete black-on-black styling. However with typical wear the denim will fade like any other indigo denim, producing excellent contrast fades. This pair of denim also features Momotaro‘s classic single-stitch peach inseam and white with pink selvedge.

The most noticeable Midnight Warrior detail though is of course on the back pocket. Bearing the traditional Momotaro “Going To Battle” battle stripes, this blatantly black finishing compliments all other features on the jean.

As often is the case with collaborations, the run is limited and only 60 pairs are available. If you’re hoping to get your hands on this great looking pair of denim, it’s best to not delay.

These will fade super nicely! although for these tapered fits i would appreciate a fit pick.

I’m sure they would have provided one if they could. You really don’t have to ask for a fit picture every single time. The peeps at Rawrdenim probably know by now…

I really think it should be mandatory. This “article” is basically just a cut and paste of the advertisement BlueOwl has been running of the jeans on their website for the past month. I get that these articles are just ad dump$ for denim merchants, but how hard could it be to break out the iPhone and take a picture of the jeans blueowl gave you to “sample” while someone is wearing them?

        • skeptical

How do u know that they got a pair to sample?

          • Rawr Denim

Unfortunately, we did not receive a sample of these; otherwise we would of course share fit photos.

I assumed there was some consideration for the ad. Mod already responded below.

You bet, thanks for all of the comments & feedback too. Keep it coming!

Why will they fade any different than any other pair of Momotaro; hard?

  • William Harris

Hot!! Almost bought the indigo collaboration. Glad the warrior stripe is suttle

  • greySky

I like everything about them except the stripes on the back. I really like the wallet fading that happens in the backpocket, so I typically avoid jeans that have any embroidery on the back pocket (Nudies etc.) I might pick up some momos anyway though, they are super good looking.

  • Chris

the strips are just paint, so it will fade around the wallet ass well

Commoners, plebs, et all. Most jeans worth there salt will be based on the straight, loose, or low rise, based on the 501. Aslong as this has been stated on an article, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SEE A FIT PIC.

I dunno, the slim-strait option of PBJs seems to veer toward a far more slim figure than my Levis (514s), and there is really no standards, no parameters for which all these jeans are based. It is very helpful to have a fit pic, in my experience.

Just got a pair of these, stunning quality and fit. I got them quite tight and after a couple of days I think I can start loading the pockets :)
