Samurai‘s 15th Anniversary S5000VX jean uses their signature 17 Oz. Zero denim that is known for its slubbiness and irregular and features a red and silver selvedge line. The details on this jean (and even the non-anniversary jean) are not commonly seen in most other brands. The front pocket bags have a jacquard pattern that says “Shogyo Mujo” which is roughly translated to “All Things Change” and even the donut buttons and rivets are engraved with Samurai‘s brand symbols.

True to Samurai‘s traditions when it comes to their jeans, not only do they put in these intricate details but there is also a story or explanation behind why each detail belongs in place, such as the red and silver selvedge symbolizing the samurai’s soul and sword.
For this particular model, the leather patch depicting the two samurais, Musashi and Kojiro, in a peaceful scene gets added details celebrating the 15th anniversary. The red tab also has the word “Samurai” written in gold lettering. Those lucky enough to get the first production of the jean will find extras such as pin-back buttons and a Samurai denim bag. Each jean is numbered and will only be sold while supplies last in 2013.
