Ruell And Ray – “One Of A Kind…Forever”

Ashely James wanted to build a brand based on hard work and a world in which family meant everything, so she took inspiration from two men he knew shared such a philosophy – her grandfather and great grandfather – and thus began the aptly named Ruell and Ray.

Ruell & Ray has built their brand based on a devotion to local and quality-driven manufacturing which allows their owners to sit comfortably with a great pair of jeans and pride in supporting American made goods.

The idea behind Ruell and Ray is basically one of providing individuality by resurrecting “deadstock” materials from around the globe and putting them together in America. These are handmade jeans constructed from rare denims which without intervention would never again have seen wear again. Ruell and Ray have summed themselves up conveniently with their motto, “One of a kind… Forever.”

As a result of their philosophy, Ruell and Ray tend to produce a wide selection of weights and fits, as what they do depends a great deal on what particular denim they’ve got their hands on.

One thing that stays constant is the thread, buttons, leather and labor which is permanently sourced right in James’ backyard in America. She actually puts a number of finishing touches on herself, including branding patches, stamping pockets, stamping sizes/numbers and styles and finally inspecting each pair before they get near the consumer.

They’re currently making their way around the states, and a full retailers list can be seen on their Facebook page. We’re currently anticipating their website opening up, but for now keep abreast of their latest styles and stocks on their Twitter feed.
