Naked & Famous has a reputation for continually producing the most unique and rare selvedge denim on the market (in case you missed out, check out their Spring/Summer 2013 Collection). They combine old-school Japanese fabric with modern processes to create an incredibly unique wearer experience with every pair they manufacture. Each fabric ages differently and results in less-than-conventional fade patterns. This pair of Japanese Forest Green Selvedge jeans in WeirdGuy fit is no exception.

This week, our Fade Friday feature comes to us from Guy, manager of the awesome Victoria, British Columbia menswear shop, Four Horsemen. Guy purchased this pair of jeans in 2010 and says they were never an everyday pair for him, so they have seen less than a year of actual wear during which they have been soaked only once.

As you can see though, in the time they have been worn these jeans have developed a beautiful gray-ish hue in the areas of high contrasts, especially in the honeycombs on the back of the legs. These jeans still appear to have a lot of life in them and it will be interesting to see how they age as Guy continues to wears them.

Uh Oh comments arent working….the color is not really my cup of tea, kind of a murky/swampy green. however these are amazing fades! wallet fade is great, combs are on point, and fit is perfect. great fit and fades! i love how he only soaked them once, its great that there is good contrast, and a lot of original color. I cant wait to see what this guy will fade next.

It’s interesting how the combs behind the knee tend to get super small/according looking when the fit is slim like this. It looks alright here but I prefer the larger combs that come with slightly looser fitting denim; the contrast is much for noticeable and has more of a 3d-quality to it. Regardless these fades are very nice and I like the smaller/tight cuff as well.

I used to have this same problem; I never liked the really tight honeycombs either but even though I’m skinny I had a hard time avoiding it even on jeans that weren’t supposed to be that tight because I have long legs and my knees dig about two inches further into the leg of a jean than most people’s.

Just another thing that makes your jeans unique.

What’s with rolling up your pants to make it look like they are way too short for your legs?
