Despite their ubiquity and global success, one particular brand that we haven’t spoken much about is Diesel. In terms of raw denim jeans, they simply just do not offer the value and purity as others in the industry. Among other reasons as well, there have been allegations of their unethical practices.
However, when it comes to this time of week, almost no one is excluded. Thus, by way of Kenny Thompson from Wyoming, USA, this week’s Fade Friday brings us the Diesel Turbo Denim.
As a bit of background, Diesel released the Turbo Denim a little over two years ago as a raw denim that undergoes a special indigo dyeing & weaving process. As a result, the time required for substantial fading is expedited from 6-12 months to 1 month.
Kenny sent us his pair after six months of wear, four washes, and one soak. He did everything in them – from metal concerts to some auto-mechanical work to bow hunting. His honest opinion was that they did not fade faster than his other denim, albeit that may be due to soaking prior to his first wear.
There is some color-balance differences in the photos below, but you still get the idea. Thanks again, Kenny, for sharing with us!
