MS&Co. Selvedge Denim Shoe Bags – Just Released

MS & Co.'s Selvedge Denim Shoe Bag

Do the shoes make the man? I’ve always been of the impression that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat their shoes. Are they scuffed and tattered? Or are they polished and well-kept? Maybe it’s just my military upbringing, but I think it’s important to take care of our most crucial daily accessories.

If you feel the same way about your kicks then, boy, do I have an announcement for you. Portland, Oregon-based company MS&Co. are releasing a limited line of hand-made shoe bags. You may recall MS&Co. from our previous posts about raw denim accessories. Their shoe bags come in a variety of fabrics, from standard canvas duck to a cool green safari print, but we’re most excited about the version made from selvedge raw denim.

And we’re not talking just any old selvedge denim, this stuff is White Oak Cone Denim. 13.5oz of Made In America goodness to transport and store your best shoes in (or use it for whatever else you like). The drawstring is also made by the Oregon Leather Company. Best of all, these lovely hand-made bags are only $3o! Better get yours soon, though, because there’s only 50 of each type of fabric being made.

You can buy yours at MS&Co.’s website, here.

These are super cool, but wouldn’t the indigo bleach your shoes???

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by “bleach your shoes”. Indigo has no bleaching effect that I know of. Are you concerned that the indigo might stain your shoes?

If so, I don’t see it being a problem, since your shoes will be inside the bag facing the white weft of the denim, not the dyed warp side. I can’t speak for certain, but that’s my educated guess. Perhaps you can shed more light on your initial question.

Pure vanity product that screams, “I can waste $30 on a bag for shoes”. I love denim, I love selvedge denim, but this seems rather pointless, especially when I could make a shoe bag out of basically any fabric I wanted for 2 or 3 bucks.

I’m down for anyone to make and sell and buy anything they want, but personally a product like this seems like it shouldn’t be anything other than a custom product for a denim fetishist.

Agreed!  Also, who wants a bag that’s gonna bleed on your shoes?
