LVC 501XX Red Line Selvage Jeans - 15 Years, No Washes

Previously featured as the the teaser image in our article on fade types (whiskers/hige & honeycombs), this truly stunning pair of LVC 501XX well deserves the Fade Friday spotlight. We originally came across this denim masterpiece at the blog “Black and Tanned NYC“, who summed it up very well – “intense devotion”. We just hope it’s not a sham…

Note: Unfortunately it’s difficult to track down a “before” photo as we’re unsure specifically what model of LVC 501XX this is, but feel free to take a look at my LVC 1967 505-0217 to get a rough idea.

I wonder how many times a year he wears them. They’ve held up incredibly well.

freaking unbelievable…how frequently does he wear them? if i wore my jeans for 15 years, i guarantee they’d be crotchless.

  • japanese

Is this model made from what year?

  • Will

Looks nice… from a distance. I bet it smells like something died inside…

  • Rockabarry

    beautiful….just beautiful

  • 1230

not uh. i dont believe it.

  • Riekele

These have definitely been washed (and I would suggest more than once), thats very obvious from the deep color of blue and the very pure white shades. Nevertheless an amazing pair of jeans, beautiful shades of contrast.

  • Thevillagehero

I totally agree with Riekele.  As soon as I saw them I could see they have been washed.  You do not get that bright of whites even if you stay indoors and work in a cube.  The very sweat and oils from you hands and body make denim a bit dingy as they wear.  And 15 years is cool… but you just can’t wear a pair of denim for 15 years of much daily wear before they show serious signs of wear in the stress areas.  Also…  Nevertheless an amazing pair of jeans, beautiful shades of contrast.

This guy’s blowing some serious smoke. My year-old unwashed Levis 511s are already starting to blow out. This dude has washed these jeans on numerous occasions and had them for no more than five years, max. Levis jeans don’t last more than three if you wear them every day.

the obvious wash creases on the lower parts of the leg??? they are work of the devil i tells ya…

  • skfalcon

lol such a bogus claim. 15 years my ass. and to top off the lie with no washes?
you can clearly see the bright white whiskering that can only be done by washing.

  • JL

i think he wore it 15times in the past 15years.. maybe? hahaha

  • AA

Obvious bullshit, because if they were 15 years old that would mean he bought them in 1995, when LVC as a whole wasn’t formed until 1999.

  • Sillywizard

Hmm, me thinks there should have been a comma between the 1 and the 5 in the age of these jeans.

    • Sillywizard

Or, perhaps even more likely, they meant to write 15 MONTHS, not 15 years.

  • Dirty Denim

Something is fishy with these. LVC was available in Japan in 1986 and 1996 in the U.S. 15 years ago would mean he got them in Japan I guess

    • ekek

      1986 + 15 = 2001
      1996 + 15 = 2011
