For this week’s Fade Friday, we’re excited to feature a denim label that despite being very common amongst denim heads, we’ve yet to give them much attention in any of our articles (for shame…). Founded over 60 years ago in 1947 by Shuji Tsunemi, Edwin has grown to be one of the most established Japanese clothing brands and jean manufacturers.

What is also interesting is how the company name was derived.  According to the company history (see “additional resources” at bottom of page), Tsunemi was so denim-focussed that he thought of the company name by rearranging the letters D-E-N-I-M and reversing the M upside down into a W.
