Fade Friday – Nudie Jeans Slim Jim Dry Grey Coated

This week’s Fade Friday is dedicated to a brand that I personally am not crazy about but I know many others love – Nudie’s Jeans Co. The reason I ‘m not the biggest fan of this label is that roughly 3/5 people I personally know wear them to the extent that raw denim should be worn, are left with nothing but a shredded garment. Even after a multitude of repairs have been made, they still continue to disintegrate!

However, I digress and don’t mean to initiate any hate mail – I know there are some die hard Nudie heads out there who love the fit (and maybe even the ripped up result seen below). Putting my personal thoughts aside, it is still worthwhile to show the fade results my friend achieved with his Nudie Slim Jim Dry Grey Coated denim.

nudie are sucks, you were right.. they too light, so easy to rip..

If you want to wear in a pair of jeans and achieve nice results go for indigo dyed denim, not black or grey denim. Indigo is the maigc colour that bleeds out and creates the creases etc.
I think the Nudie Jeans range goes from 9 oz to 14 oz so I wouldn’t say they are too light.

This is not the dry grey coated but the Used Coated Grey.

Nudie’s design and cut is the best amoung all the denim brands in my opinion.. there are tons of brands are coming out and trying to mimic Japanese labels , which seems lame to me.. selvage and rope dye is a basic when it comes to raw denim , and i dont understand what is the deal that some brands keep pointing these things out on their tag..

Love the Slim Jim cut but their denim gets shot in weeks. I have a nice black coated that look leather-like unwashed but the others (organic and non) fell apart.

I had a pair of Nudies … about an eight inch area in the crotch disintegrated within 4 months of wear. I don’t mind a hole here or there but I could not patch this at all. Not impressed.

Where can I actually pick up a Pair of Nudie’s with this color (or another similarly colored/fading pair), it seems as though neither Nudie’s website or Context actually sell them?

Wore my Nudies for 4 months and got this big ass hole in my crotch area. Emailed them and they said it was to be expected. . . Glad to know this is a common Nudie issue.
